Mizz Mozaic

Hi there! I’m Jenlene (Jen‑LEAN) ~ or as most people know me, Mizz Mozaic ~ and I’ve been joyfully creating mosaics for over 23 years! I’m so thrilled you’re here and can’t wait to share the magic of mosaics with you.

A little about me…

Back in 2003, I started teaching mosaic classes for Arlington Community Learning in Northern Virginia. Since then, I’ve led private lessons, workshops and corporate team-building events ~ creating one-of-a-kind experiences for birthdays, bachelorette parties, Girl Scout gatherings, mom’s night outs, graduations and more. I’ve collaborated with local small businesses on unique events ~ including a pop-up mosaic shop where I opened my first public studio in downtown Historic Herndon, VA!

I’ve also had the incredible privilege of studying mosaics at the Chicago Mosaic School, the premier mosaic education center in the U.S., and most recently, at a private workshop in Athens, Greece, where I explored the Greek influence of mosaics and worked with hand-cut Greek marbles. It was an unforgettable experience shared with Mizter Mozaic!

Over the years, I’ve been part of many special projects and social mosaic events, and I’m always cooking up something new ~ from collaborations to community gatherings ~ so stay tuned for updates!

I’m especially proud to share that Mizz Mozaic is officially trademarked! Both the name and logo are registered with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, marking an exciting milestone in the journey of my business. Securing this trademark is not just a legal accomplishment ~ it’s a celebration of the creativity, passion and hard work that has gone into building Mizz Mozaic from the ground up. It’s a symbol of the uniqueness of the brand, the community we’ve built, and the bright future ahead for sharing mosaic art with even more people.

Mosaic making is not just art ~ it’s fun, therapeutic, builds community and is a beautiful way to relax and tap into your creativity. Watching students light up with joy inspired me to share this ancient and accessible art form with everyone. That’s how Mizz Mozaic came to life: to add a little extra creativity, excitement and joy to busy days everywhere.

When I’m not creating mosaics, I’m all about family, running, theatre, travel, ketchup and Barry Manilow. I’m an RRCA certified running coach & race director, an ACE certified personal trainer, a proud volunteer coach for Girls on the Run (11 seasons and counting!) and I’ve been keeping a running streak going since December 31, 2018!
