I am Jenlene aka "Mizz Mozaic" & I have been rocking the craft of mosaic making for over 20 years. In 2003, I began teaching mosaic classes for Arlington Community Learning in Northern Virginia & haven't looked back. Since then, I have taught private lessons, small classes, workshops & corporate team-building events, created mosaic installations & hosted numerous mosaic-themed celebratory events including birthday, bachelorette & graduation parties. I have partnered with many local small businesses, including a pop-up mosaic shop in partnership with Elden Street Tea Shop, where I opened my first public studio space in downtown Historic Herndon, VA! I'm proud to have attended the Chicago Mosaic School to further my mosaic education at the premier center of education for the mosaic arts in the United States.
I've had the opportunity to be part of so many special projects & collaborations recently, including a spectacular mosaic installation I worked on in Herndon which was unveiled last fall. I am constantly announcing exciting news about unique collaborations & social mosaic events that I will be hosting on a regular basis. I'm collaborating with some really special businesses & people - so stay tuned! At Mizz Mozaic, you get the FULL mosaic experience.
The art of mosaic making is so much fun! It's a therapeutic art that encourages us to relax & tap into our creative side. When I saw how much joy it brought to my students, I decided everyone needed to experience this ancient art form to add excitement, creativity & balance to their busy days. This is how the concept of Mizz Mozaic originated.
My loves include my mama, bro, Mizter Mozaic, running, theatre, travel, ketchup & Barry Manilow. I am also an RRCA certified running coach & race director, ACE certified personal trainer, proud volunteer coach entering my 10th season with Girls on the Run & a self-proclaimed bowling champion!
Here I am in one of my favorite pics! This is the day we unveiled the awesome mosaic founding member tree for Rowan Tree, a women focused coworking & cogrowth community. 50 hours of love went into making this piece and I couldn't be more excited to have been part of this!
